Some things in life must be experienced because the words to describe it, does not exist. This tour is one of those things.
We start our journey in Cape Town and follow the path of the indigenous people (the first nation) of Southern Africa, through to the Kalahari, all the way to the Kgalagadi National Park. There are many wow moments on this tour and the San (Khoisan or Bushmen) will leave you in awe as they share their lives and beliefs and spirituality, with you.
Day 1: Arrive Cape Town International
Arrive at Cape Town International Airport and be met by your local guide. Embark on a city orientation of the beautiful, cosmopolitan Cape Town. Take a cable car trip up the iconic Table Mountain (weather permitting), before visiting the internationally renowned Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.
Day 2: Full Day Cape Peninsula Tour
Today we enjoy a full day tour of the Cape Peninsula. We drive via the scenic Chapman’s Peak drive to Cape Point Nature Reserve and Cape of Good Hope, the most southwestern tip of the African continent.
Pay a visit to the Boulders Penguin Colony in Simon’s Town.
Day 3: Cape Winelands
Enjoy a tour through the hills and valleys of the Cape Winelands. Visit a couple of local wine estates to sample the award winning wines that make this region so famous, amongst other things.
Day 4: Cape West Coast
Today we drive via the little towns of Mamre and Darling before stopping for lunch. After lunch it is off to !Khwa Ttu for a guided tour with a local Bushman.
Day 5: Cape West Coast
Visit a Private Game Reserve and enjoy a game drive. In the afternoon we will embark on a nature walk in the West Coast National Park.
Day 6: Cape West Coast
We stop at the West Coast Fossil Park for a guided tour that will take us back in time to 5 million years ago. We then drive via the small towns of Veldrif, Laaiplek and Goedverwacht and into the town of Clanwilliam.
Day 7: Cederberg Region
Today we travel into the amazingly beautiful Cederberg Mountains to visit the Sevilla San rock art trail. We also visit the picturesque, mission town of Wuppertal.
Day 8: Cape West Coast
Our journey today takes us to the small coastal, fishing town of Lamberts Bay, the diamond of the West Coast region of South Africa
Day 9: Hantam Karoo
We drive to the town of Vanrhynsdorp, at the edge of the Nama Karoo, an area of semi-desert succulent vegetation. The mountains around the town were populated by the San people. Our journey continues to the village of Nieuwoudtville, where Cape Fynbos meets the Hantam Karoo. We will overnight in the town Calvinia.
Day 10 & 11: Augrabies
We spend two nights at the Augrabies National Park. The Khoi people called it ‘Aukoerebis’, or place of Great Noise. When the Orange River is in full flood, the 56m drop of the falls is something that is not easily forgotten.
Day 12, 13 & 14: Kalahari
For the next three nights we enjoy the life and feel of the Kalahari and the Khomanisan people. Get to experience the Bushmen on a level that few people have been privilege to do so before.
