This tour is a beautiful balance of game drives and walking/hiking. The tour is designed for the nature-lover, as well as the wildlife and nature enthusiast. This tour takes us into some of the unspoiled beauty of these countries. Past, present and future meld together in places were time does not matter. This is one of those tours where Africa gets under your skin and you can appreciate the circle of life. Most of us live for moments where nature is so astonishing that our breath is taken away. NATURE LOVERS TOUR
Day 1: Cape Town
Airport pick-up. We will do a city orientation tour and then enjoy a cable car ride up Table Mountain (weather permitting).
Day 2: Cape Town
Today we enjoy an overview of the Cape Peninsula. We will drive along the Atlantic seaboard, via Chapman’s Peak, one of the most scenic coastal drives in the world. We head for the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and Cape Point, the most south-western point of the African continent. A stop is made at Boulders Penguin Colony, one of only three land-based breeding colonies.
Day 3: Cape Town – Cape Agulhas – De Hoop
We leave Cape Town and drive to the most southern tip of the Africa. Then we make our way to De Hoop Nature reserve and enjoy the splendid, natural beauty of this place.
Day 4: De Hoop – Wilderness
We can do an early morning walk and then after breakfast we head for the Garden Route and the Wilderness National Park.
Day 5: Wilderness – Tsitsikamma
Our destination is Tsitsikamma National Park, a splendor of natural, indigenous trees and vegetation, deep gorges and steep forested slopes. We can take a walk to the swing bridge.
Day 6: Tsitsikamma – Addo
Addo Elephant National Park became a sanctuary to the African elephant when it was nearly hunted to extinction in this region in the early 1900s. We will enjoy game drives through the park.
Day 7 & 8: Addo – Lesotho
A long drive takes us from Addo to the Mountain Kingdom of Lesotho. We spend some time doing a hike and just generally enjoying the surroundings of Lesotho.
Day 9 & 10: Lesotho – Kwa-Zulu Natal
From Lesotho we head for the majestic Drakensberg Mountains and the Royal Natal National Park of Kwa-Zulu Natal. We’ll spend some time exploring the Drakensberg Mountains.
Day 11 & 12: Kwa-Zulu Natal
We spend the next two nights at Umfolozi/Hluhluwe Game Reserve, with the largest population of endangered white rhinos in the world.
Day 13: Kwa-Zulu Natal
We enjoy the remoteness of the Mkuze game reserve. If time allows, we will visit St Lucia before heading for Mkuze.
Day 14 & 15: Kwa-Zulu Natal–Swaziland
We cross the border from South Africa into Swaziland.
Day 16 & 17: Swaziland – Kruger National Park
With around five million hectares of land, this world renowned park has a lot to offer. Here the African wildlife thrives in their natural habitats.
Day 18: Kruger National Park – Mpumalanga
Today we visit the breathtaking beauty of the Blyde river canyon and you are entertained by peeping through God’s Window and a feat of nature in Bourke’s Luck Potholes.
Day 19 & 20: Mpumalanga – Cradle of Humankind
We visit a cultural village and explore the general area of the Cradle of Humankind. The Cradle of Humankind is a heritage site and not to be missed as you get a fascinating understanding of life on earth.
This is where our journey ends and you are transferred to the airport for your flights back home.
